Blonde Kate is one beautiful girl. Her flawless English rose complexion and those big, expressive eyes just grab you when you meet her in person. We met with the actress, who looked sleek in all black low-cut tee, jacket, jeans and high boots, at a hotel in Beverly Hills recently to sit down and shoot the breeze about shooting The Holiday, her joy at playing a modern Englishwoman without corsets and period costumes, being a mom, her Oscar hopes, working with Jack Black as her leading man and what she’d like to give and get this holiday season.

Stephen Tredre
Stephen Tredre (1991-1996) Kate and Stephen met on the set of the british TV show “Dark Season”. She was 16, he was 27. Kate moved in with Stephen shortly after and they dated for 5 years. They remained close friends until Stephen died of bone cancer in December 1997. It was for Stephen’s funeral that she missed one of the Titanic premieres.Rufus Sewell
Rufus Sewell (1996-1997) Kate and Rufus enjoyed a short relationship during the shooting of “Hamlet” and afterwards. It is rumoured that their relationship was only a matter of weeks long and that they still are friends, as Kate was invited to his wedding in 1998.
Jim Threapleton
Jim Threapleton (1998-2001) Kate met Jim on the set of her movie “Hideous Kinky” where he was third assistant director. They got married on November 21, 1998 in Reading´s All Saints Church. Their daughter Mia Honey Threapleton was born on October 12, 2000. Kate and Jim split in November of 2001 after 3 years of marriage.
Sam Mendes (2001-present) Kate and Sam met after she split with Jim, end of 2001. They met when Sam was casting for the plays Uncle Vanya and Twelfth Night. Kate and Sam got married in a secret ceremony in May 2003 in the West Indies and Kate gave birth to little Joe Alfie Winslet-Mendes on December 22, 2003.

Kate was born and raised in Reading England in a family of struggling actors. In fact, grandpa had a theater in his backyard, where the family would stage their own plays. Acting was an obvious career choice for Ms. Winslet. Her first role was that of Mary in a school play, at the tender age of 5.
Kate Winslet is known the world over for her breakthrough performance in the world’s highest grossing movie of all time, Titanic. Yet, Ms. Winslet had been nominated for an Academy Award prior to this film for her work in the Jane Austen epic Sense and Sensibility. which won Emma Thompson an Academy Award for screenplay adaptation. Kate’s success in Titanic might have appeared sudden to some, but it was actually her sixth film. Before stepping onto the set of Titanic Kate had worked with some of the finest directors the filmmaking world had to offer: Peter Jackson, Kenneth Branagh, and Ang Lee.
Ms. Winslet has been nominated for four Academy Awards, most recently for her brilliant role as Clementine in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotles Mind, acknowledged by many to be her best work to date. Her upcoming movie roles include All the King’s Men, with co-stars Jude Law and Sean Penn, and a quirky musical directed by John Torturro co-starring James Gandolfini, Susan Surandon, and Christopher Walken.
Kate just recently began filming a romantic comedy by Nancy Meyers, What Women Want, with Jack Black as her love interest also starring Cameron Diaz and Jude Law.

In the January issue of Harper’s Bazaar, co-stars and friends Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet open up to their Holiday director Nancy Meyers on everything from their favorite undies (Cameron loves Hanky Panky) to whether they’d go under the knife. Sounds like the stars wouldn’t mind switching closets — the ever-elegant Kate wishes she could pull off “skinny jeans,” while self-described “tomboy” Cameron wants to be “a gown-wearing kind of gal. I know that people love to see their celebrities in gowns at red-carpet events, and I really want to be able to do it. But I just get so self-conscious when I wear a flowy gown.” Luckily, her favorite jeans are from William Rast , co-designed by boyfriend Justin Timberlake, so at least she doesn’t have to worry about getting another pair! On the subject of aging not-too-gracefully, Kate says “It is hard for me to talk about Botox with out getting angry,” while Cameron rues that “Botox really freaks me out. . . Believe me, I wish that I liked it. Who doesn’t hope for a little help every once in a while?” In addition her medicinal nose job, Cameron admits that “I do believe in tummy tucks and boob lifts. Just for the record.” Something to watch out for, no doubt.
